Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to WCAG 2.1 AA, what we’ve done, known gaps, and how the villa itself is laid out. Last updated 1 September 2026.

The Cerulean is committed to making this website usable for everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and we treat accessibility as ongoing work rather than a one-time task. Last updated 1 September 2026.

What we’ve done

  • Semantic HTML headings and landmarks, with a “skip to content” link as the first item for keyboard and screen-reader users.
  • Descriptive alt text on meaningful images.
  • Keyboard-operable navigation, visible focus outlines, and labelled form fields.
  • Colour choices checked for contrast against our ivory and deep-teal palette.
  • A “Calm” motion toggle in the footer (and respect for your browser’s reduced-motion setting) so the cinematic animations can be turned down.

Known limitations

Some parts of the experience come from third parties and may not be fully accessible: the Matterport 3D virtual tours, embedded maps, and the off-site booking system each have their own interfaces we do not control. A few decorative animations are visual only. We are working to improve or caption these where we can.

Accessibility of the villa itself

So you can decide whether the property suits your needs, here is a plain description of the building. The Cerulean is a multi-level oceanfront villa on a sloped hillside site. There are steps between some indoor and outdoor levels, the pool deck sits above the sea, and the private beach is reached by a stepped path rather than a level walkway. The house was not purpose-built as a wheelchair-accessible property. If you or a member of your party has specific mobility, vision, hearing or other access requirements, please contact us before booking — we will describe the layout honestly, tell you what is and isn’t workable, and help you decide.
